Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Baltra Island, Santa Cruz Island

   Depart 14:00

   Ecuador

Baltra Island is a pivotal port in the Galápagos, historically rooted and now a gateway to adventure. Must-do experiences include sampling fresh ceviche de mero and exploring the nearby Isabela Island and Las Tintoreras Islet. The best season to visit is during the warmer months from December to May.

2. Day 2

   Gardner Bay, Española, Ecuador

   Arrive 08:00Depart 11:30

   Ecuador

Gardner Bay on Española Island is one of the Galápagos' most spectacular wildlife beaches, where sea lions, marine iguanas, and Hood mockingbirds interact with visitors on pristine white sand. Essential experiences include snorkelling with playful sea lion pups and visiting the waved albatross colony at Punta Suárez. January through May offers warm water snorkelling; April through December brings the albatross breeding season.

3. Day 2

   Suarez Point, (Espaã‘Ola)

   Arrive 15:00Depart 18:00

4. Day 3

   Oran, Algeria

   Arrive 08:00Depart 11:30

   Algeria

Oran is Algeria's vibrant second city, birthplace of rai music and setting of Camus's The Plague, where Spanish fortresses, French colonial architecture, and Ottoman mosques layer a fascinating Mediterranean streetscape. Must-dos include climbing to the Santa Cruz fortress for panoramic views, feasting on charcoal-grilled sardines and refined couscous, and experiencing the live rai music scene. Spring and autumn offer the most comfortable Mediterranean weather.

5. Day 3

   Post Office, Floreana, Ecuador

   Arrive 15:00Depart 18:00

   Ecuador

Post Office Bay on Floreana Island in the Galápagos is home to the world's oldest informal postal system, where since the eighteenth century travellers have exchanged unstamped letters via a weathered wooden barrel on a volcanic shore. Visitors should participate in the timeless postcard exchange ritual and snorkel the pristine waters of nearby Champion Islet alongside sea lions and marine turtles. The warmest and calmest season runs from December through May, coinciding with green turtle nesting and ideal conditions for expedition landings.

6. Day 4

   Punta Moreno, Isabela Island

   Arrive 08:00Depart 11:30

   Ecuador

Punta Moreno is a remote volcanic landing site on the western coast of Isabela Island in the Galápagos, where stark pahoehoe lava fields meet brackish lagoons teeming with flamingos, pintail ducks, and marine iguanas. The essential experience is walking across the otherworldly basalt terrain with an expert naturalist, observing pioneer species that have colonised the fissures of relatively recent lava flows. Accessible year-round, the warm-dry season from June to November offers the best conditions for wildlife activity and calmer seas for Zodiac landings.

7. Day 4

   Urvina Bay (Isabela)

   Arrive 15:00Depart 18:00

Due to currents and upwelling, the water here is noticeably colder than in other parts of the Galapagos and in 1954, part of this area along Isabela’s coast was uplifted 12–15 feet just prior to an eruption. The remains of a coral reef raised during the uplift can still be found at Urvina Bay. On a long hike, you can ramble through the now high-and-dry corals of this once thriving reef or stick to a shorter version of the same hike and look for land iguanas, finches, and if luck holds, giant tortoises. Afterwards, if conditions allow, the black sand beach of Urvina Bay offers a chance for swimming and snorkeling. While in the water, you may see sea turtles and diving cormorants.

8. Day 5

   Punta Espinoza, Fernandina, Ecuador

   Arrive 08:00Depart 11:30

   Ecuador

Punta Espinoza on Fernandina Island is the Galápagos at its most pristine — a never-colonised volcanic landscape teeming with thousands of marine iguanas, flightless cormorants, and Galápagos penguins. Must-dos include walking the lava-rock trail through iguana colonies and snorkelling the nutrient-rich waters alongside marine iguanas and sea lions. June through November brings the richest marine life during the cooler garúa season.

9. Day 5

   Punta Vicente Roca, Isabela, Ecuador

   Arrive 15:00Depart 18:00

   Ecuador

Punta Vicente Roca on Isabela Island is a stunning marine destination rich in history and natural beauty. Must-do experiences include snorkeling in the vibrant underwater ecosystems and savoring local dishes like ceviche de mero. The best season to visit is during the dry season from June to December, when wildlife is most active and the weather is pleasantly mild.

10. Day 6

    South Plaza Island

    Arrive 08:00Depart 11:30

    Ecuador

South Plaza Island is a tiny Galapagos islet delivering outsized wildlife spectacle — golden land iguanas beneath cacti, cliff-nesting tropicbirds, bachelor sea lion colonies, and a carpet of colour-changing Sesuvium succulents against turquoise seas. Must-dos include the cliff-edge walk past nesting seabirds, watching land iguanas eat cactus pads, and snorkelling the sea lion channel. Visit June through November for the most vivid Sesuvium red-carpet display.

11. Day 6

    Daphne Island

    Arrive 13:00Depart 14:00

    Ecuador

Daphne Major is a small volcanic cone in the central Galápagos, famous as the site of the Grants' groundbreaking forty-year study of Darwin's finches that documented natural selection in real time. Zodiac cruises reveal nesting blue-footed boobies, tropicbirds, and rich marine life around the island's tuff cliffs. Landings are restricted to researchers; both seasons offer excellent wildlife viewing from the water.

12. Day 6

Dragon Hill, Santa Cruz Island, Galápagos

    Arrive 15:00Depart 18:00

    Ecuador

Dragon Hill on Santa Cruz Island is a Galapagos site where reintroduced land iguanas thrive in arid palo santo scrubland, flamingos wade in a coastal lagoon, and Darwin's finches pick parasites from iguanas' backs in a living display of symbiosis. Must-dos include the hilltop trail among golden land iguanas, flamingo watching at the lagoon, and snorkelling with sea turtles from the beach. Visit June through November for prime iguana activity and dramatic dry-season landscapes.

13. Day 7

    Puerto Ayora, Galapagos

    Arrive 08:00Depart 18:00

    Ecuador

Puerto Ayora is the main town and visitor hub of the Galápagos on Santa Cruz Island, where the Charles Darwin Research Station anchors conservation efforts and giant tortoises roam freely in the misty highlands. Must-dos include walking among wild tortoises, the harbor fish market with its sea lion audience, and pristine Tortuga Bay beach. Both seasons offer exceptional wildlife; warm season (Jan–May) is best for snorkeling, cool season (Jun–Dec) for marine mammals.

14. Day 8

    Baltra Island, Santa Cruz Island

    Arrive 07:00
