Perfect Day at CocoCay is Royal Caribbean's private island destination in the Berry Islands chain of the Bahamas, a 125-acre paradise that represents the cruise industry's most ambitious private-island development to date. The island, originally known as Little Stirrup Cay, was first used by Royal Caribbean in 1990 as a simple beach stop. In 2019, after a $250 million investment, it was transformed into an immersive resort experience featuring Thrill Waterpark — home to Daredevil's Peak, the tallest waterslide in North America at 135 feet — an enormous freshwater pool, the helium balloon Up, Up and Away that rises 450 feet for panoramic views, and the overwater Coco Beach Club, the first of its kind in the Bahamas.

The island's design achieves a delicate balance between high-energy attractions and serene tropical relaxation. South Beach, a long crescent of pristine white sand, is reserved for those seeking tranquility, its calm turquoise waters ideal for swimming and floating. Chill Island provides hammocks strung between palm trees and colorful beach loungers. At the opposite end of the energy spectrum, the Thrill Waterpark features multiple waterslides, a wave pool, and a lazy river, while the Adventure Pool area offers rock climbing, zip-lining, and basketball courts. The Coco Beach Club, accessible via a separate ticket, provides an exclusive overwater experience with floating cabanas, an infinity pool, and dedicated dining.

Dining at CocoCay spans casual Caribbean fare to beachside grilling. Snack Shack and Skipper's Grill serve complimentary burgers, hot dogs, jerk chicken, and Caribbean rice and beans. Captain Jack's offers a sit-down seafood experience with Bahamian conch fritters, grilled mahi-mahi, and coconut shrimp. The Coco Beach Club features elevated cuisine including fresh ceviche, lobster, and chilled rosé. Frozen cocktails flow freely from swim-up bars, with the island's signature CocoCay Punch — a blend of tropical rums, passion fruit, and coconut — being the drink of choice. Fresh fruit smoothies and locally inspired flavored waters offer refreshing non-alcoholic alternatives.

While the island is designed as a self-contained experience, the natural beauty of the Berry Islands provides a stunning backdrop. The shallow, crystal-clear waters surrounding CocoCay offer excellent snorkeling, with colorful reef fish, conch, and occasional sea turtles visible from the surface. Kayaking and paddleboarding allow exploration of the island's mangrove-fringed coastline. The Up, Up and Away balloon ride provides breathtaking 360-degree views of the surrounding cays, the deep blue Tongue of the Ocean to the west, and the shallow turquoise banks stretching toward the Bahamas' Great Barrier Reef.

Perfect Day at CocoCay is exclusively operated by Royal Caribbean, with multiple ships calling regularly from ports including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Cape Canaveral, and Galveston. The destination is featured on three-, four-, five-, and seven-night Bahamas and Caribbean itineraries, making it one of the most visited private islands in the cruise industry. The Bahamas enjoy a tropical climate with year-round warmth, though November through April is the most popular cruising period, offering lower humidity, minimal rainfall, and comfortable temperatures in the low eighties Fahrenheit.
