The Romans left a lasting mark on Trier, with historical buildings from that era still shaping the city’s appearance today: the amphitheatre, the Römerbrücke bridge, the Igeler Säule (Igel column), the Barbarathermen and Kaiserthermen baths, the Konstantinbasilika (Basilica of Constantine) and – of course – the city’s most famous symbol, the Porta Nigra. The name of this impressive former city gate is believed to be a reference to its weathered sandstone.

Numerous half-timbered houses adorn the town of Bernkastel directly on the Moselle. Above there is a castle with a restaurant and in the old town there are numerous small boutiques and shops. The Moselle invites you to an unforgettable boat trip, but also to go kayaking or canoeing. Bernkastel is known for its ideal location on the Moselle and for the quaint old town. Together with Kues it forms a twin town, left and right of the banks of the Moselle, with numerous restaurants and bars.

The town of Boppard is located in the Middle Rhine Valley and has many small shops, a beautiful old town and a medieval tower. A castle rises majestically high above the small town on the Rhine, as there are numerous in the Middle Rhine Valley. You feel as if you have been transported back in the Middle Ages. There is a campsite on the Rhine. Boppard is connected to the Rhine cities in Hesse by a small ferry. There are no bridges between Mainz and Koblenz, as the Middle Rhine Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Heidelberg is a town on the Neckar River in southwestern Germany. It’s known for venerable Heidelberg University, founded in the 14th century. Gothic Heiliggeistkirche church towers over the cafe-lined Marktplatz, a town square in the Altstadt (Old Town). Strasbourg is a major city in France and is also the capital of the Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine region. The Rhine forms a natural border with Germany.
