Windstar Cruises

Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Bridgetown, Barbados

   Depart 18:00

   Barbados

Bridgetown, Barbados's compact and convivial capital, carries three centuries of uninterrupted British colonial heritage — a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgian townhouses, coral-stone churches, and the Garrison Savannah, whose racecourse is the oldest in the Western Hemisphere — all infused with the irresistible rhythms of a proud Caribbean nation. The island's culinary scene has matured into one of the Caribbean's most sophisticated, with flying fish cutter sandwiches from roadside stalls competing for devotion with the elegant seafood preparations of the Platinum Coast's celebrated restaurants. Visit December through May for the driest season; the island's sheltered west coast offers superlative year-round sailing conditions.

2. Day 2

   Road Bay

   Arrive 15:00Depart 08:00

   Anguilla

Road Bay is the anchorage for Anguilla, whose sixteen miles harbor some of the world's finest beaches — including Shoal Bay East's two-mile masterpiece — and a dining scene that defies the island's modest population of fifteen thousand. Visit December through April via Ponant or Windstar for the Caribbean's most convincing synthesis of perfect sand, exceptional cuisine, and the genuine exclusivity that comes from having no deep-water cruise port.

3. Day 2

   The Pitons

   Arrive 17:30Depart 18:30

4. Day 3

   Scarborough, Trinidad

   Arrive 08:00Depart 17:00

   Trinidad and Tobago

Scarborough, the hillside capital of Tobago, is a captivating port where colonial fortifications, a centuries-old legislative heritage, and one of the Caribbean's most authentic food cultures converge. Visitors should not miss the panoramic ramparts of Fort King George and a bowl of the island's legendary crab and callaloo at the local market. The dry season from January to May offers the most agreeable conditions for exploring, coinciding perfectly with the peak Caribbean cruise itineraries.

5. Day 4

   Admiralty Bay , Antarctica

   Arrive 08:00Depart 22:00

   Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Admiralty Bay on King George Island is Antarctica's scientific gateway, where Polish, Brazilian, and Ecuadorian research stations share shoreline with gentoo and chinstrap penguin colonies beneath glaciated peaks. Visit December through January via Silversea or Emerald Yacht Cruises for zodiac landings at working research stations, penguin colony encounters, and the rare Antarctic experience where science and wilderness illuminate each other.

6. Day 5

   Mayreau

   Arrive 08:00Depart 18:00

   Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Mayreau is the smallest inhabited island in the Grenadines, a car-free Caribbean gem with fewer than three hundred residents, the exquisite Salt Whistle Bay beach, and views across the pristine Tobago Cays Marine Park. Must-do experiences include snorkelling with sea turtles in the Tobago Cays, feasting on fresh grilled lobster, and watching sunset from the hilltop church. January through May's dry season offers the most reliable weather.

7. Day 6

   At Sea

8. Day 7

   Kralendijk, Bonaire

   Arrive 08:00Depart 22:00

   Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba

Kralendijk, Bonaire's compact and colorful Dutch Caribbean capital, is a gateway to some of the hemisphere's most pristine coral reefs and one of the few Caribbean destinations where conservation genuinely shapes the visitor experience. Shore diving along the Bonaire National Marine Park's sixty-three marked sites and exploring the flamingo colonies of Washington Slagbaai National Park are essential pursuits. The dry season from November through April offers ideal conditions, with steady trade winds and virtually no rainfall.

9. Day 8

   Willemstad

   Arrive 08:00Depart 18:00

   Curaçao

Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao, is a vibrant port city celebrated for its colorful architecture and rich history. Must-do experiences include trying local delicacies like "keshi yena" and exploring the stunning beaches of Playa Kenepa. The best season to visit is during the dry months from December to April, when the weather is ideal for exploring both the city and its beautiful surroundings.

10. Day 9

    Oranjestad, Aruba

    Arrive 06:00Depart 18:00

    Aruba

Oranjestad shimmers with an unlikely elegance — Dutch colonial architecture painted in ochre, terracotta, and sky-blue lining streets just fifteen miles off the Venezuelan coast, in a perpetual trade wind that keeps the island blissfully dry and golden-skied almost every day of the year. The island's Arikok National Park preserves ancient Caquetío petroglyphs, a rugged volcanic interior, and the dramatic Natural Pool carved from black rock on the windward coast. Eagle Beach, consistently ranked among the finest beaches in the Caribbean, lies minutes from the capital. Aruba's reliably brilliant weather — average 29°C with near-zero hurricane risk — makes it genuinely year-round, though December through April is the classic season.

11. Day 10

    At Sea

12. Day 11

    Cartagena, Spain

    Arrive 07:00

    Spain

Cartagena, Spain, is a storied Mediterranean port city founded by the Carthaginians in 227 BC, where a spectacularly preserved Roman Theatre and Modernista architecture reveal layers of civilisation along a sheltered natural harbour. Visitors should not miss the caldero rice at a harbourside restaurant and a morning exploring the archaeological quarter from the Roman Forum to the Punic Wall. The mild Murcian climate makes autumn through late spring ideal, when temperatures invite leisurely wandering without the intensity of high summer.

    Panama

Bocas del Toro is a laid-back Caribbean archipelago in northwestern Panama, where overwater bungalows, primary rainforest, and pristine coral reefs create a bohemian tropical paradise. Must-dos include snorkeling the marine park at Isla Bastimentos, visiting Starfish Beach, and savoring coconut-milk rondon stew. September through October and February through April offer the driest conditions, though warm waters and relaxed vibes persist year-round.

16. Day 15

    San Blas Islands, Panama

    Arrive 09:30Depart 17:00

    Panama

The San Blas Islands (Guna Yala) are a Caribbean archipelago of 365 palm-fringed islands governed autonomously by the Guna indigenous people, whose intricate mola textiles rank among the world's finest textile arts. Must-dos include purchasing molas directly from Guna artisans, snorkelling pristine coral reefs, and experiencing the crystalline waters of uninhabited islands. Visit December through April for the dry season, and approach with respect for Guna sovereignty.

17. Day 16

    Panama Canal

    Arrive 04:00Depart 18:00

    Panama

The Panama Canal is one of humanity's greatest engineering achievements—a 50-mile waterway that lifts ships 26 meters through locks to cross between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Must-dos include watching the locks operation from open deck, visiting the Miraflores Visitor Center, and exploring Panama City's restored Casco Viejo. The dry season (December–April) offers the clearest views for transit day.

18. Day 17

    Balboa / Fuerte Amador, Panama

    Arrive 07:00

    Panama

Balboa and Fuerte Amador serve as the Pacific gateway to the Panama Canal, offering front-row views of one of engineering's greatest achievements. Must-dos include exploring the UNESCO-listed Casco Viejo, savoring ceviche at the Mercado de Mariscos, and visiting the Miraflores Locks. The dry season from December through April brings sunny skies and calm seas, ideal for canal transits and city exploration.
