DO
Tucked into the heartbeat of the Colonial City, Kimpton Las Mercedes Santo Domingo is where centuries-old history meets laid-back luxury. This one-time 16th-century schoolhouse now pulses with cultural energy and local soul. Step out our doors onto the cobblestone charm of Las Mercedes Street, where vibrant plazas, art-filled alleyways, and stories from the first city of the Americas invite you to linger and explore. Wander through nearby treasures like the Museo de las Casas Reales, the Alcázar de Colón, and Parque Colón, all just steps away. You’re walking distance from where The Godfather was once filmed and where Dominican history continues to unfold in real time. Our neighborhood is a living museum and a lively destination, best discovered slowly, with curiosity and an open mind. Inside, you’ll find a sanctuary of calm. Every room tells its own story through local art and natural textures, while outdoor patios and vertical gardens offer space to breathe. Savor Northern Italian flavors at Zola, or keep it casual with international plates at El Patio. This is where world travelers and local trendsetters come to dine, connect, and feel inspired. From skyline-view spa tubs and a cigar lounge to thoughtful perks like our morning Kickstart and evening Social Hour, Kimpton Las Mercedes Santo Domingo blends design, culture, and human hospitality in a way that’s anything but ordinary.
