Emerald Yacht Cruises

Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Mahe

   Seychelles

Mahé is the largest Seychelles island, a granitic paradise of ancient forests, over sixty pristine beaches, and the world's smallest capital city, Victoria. Must-do experiences include beach-hopping from Anse Intendance to Anse Major, hiking Morne Seychellois peak, and tasting octopus curry and Takamaka rum. November through March offers calm seas for beaches; May through September is cooler and ideal for hiking.

2. Day 2

   Sainte Anne Channel

3. Day 2

   Cousin Island

   Seychelles

Cousin Island is a 29-hectare Seychelles nature reserve and one of the Indian Ocean's greatest conservation triumphs, where the Seychelles warbler was rescued from 26 individuals and over 300,000 seabirds now nest among regenerated native forest. Must-dos include guided walks among nesting fairy terns, observing the recovered warbler population, and snorkelling the protected coral reef. Visit April through October for the driest conditions and easiest landing.

4. Day 3

   Praslin, Seychelles

   Seychelles

Praslin is the Seychelles' second-largest island, home to the UNESCO-listed Vallée de Mai primeval palm forest and beaches consistently ranked among the world's most beautiful. Visit during the transitional months of April-May or October-November for calm seas, the ancient coco de mer forest, and snorkeling in crystalline waters off Anse Lazio.

5. Day 4

   La Digue

   Seychelles

La Digue is the smallest inhabited granitic island in the Seychelles, where ancient granite boulders frame the world-famous Anse Source d'Argent beach and bicycles remain the primary transport. Visitors cycle through tropical splendour, spot the endangered Seychelles paradise flycatcher, and feast on Creole cuisine of grilled snapper, octopus curry, and vanilla-scented ladob. AIDA, Azamara, Emerald Yacht Cruises, and Ponant call on Indian Ocean itineraries, with April-May and October-November offering the calmest seas and most reliable sunshine.

6. Day 5

   Curieuse Island

   Seychelles

Curieuse Island is a Seychelles nature reserve where 300 Aldabra giant tortoises roam freely, the world's largest seed — the coco de mer — grows wild, and turquoise marine park waters teem with turtles and reef sharks. Must-dos include close encounters with giant tortoises, hiking through coco de mer palms, and snorkelling the marine park between Curieuse and Praslin. Visit April through October for calm seas and comfortable conditions.

7. Day 6

   Aride Island, Seychelles

   Seychelles

Aride Island is a Seychelles nature reserve hosting the Indian Ocean's densest seabird populations, with over a million birds across ten breeding species, plus endemic plants and pristine coral reefs. Must-dos include guided walks through nesting colonies of tropicbirds and noddies, snorkeling the surrounding reef, and observing the endemic Wright's gardenia. October through April offers calmer seas and peak seabird breeding activity.
