Emerald Yacht Cruises

Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Philipsburg, St. Maarten

   Sint Maarten

Philipsburg, capital of the Dutch side of Sint Maarten, packs extraordinary energy onto a narrow sand spit between Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond — two parallel streets of duty-free boutiques, creole restaurants, and rum bars backed by a beach where cruise ships anchor so close that their hulls seem to dominate the shoreline. The island's most celebrated spectacle is entirely involuntary: Princess Juliana International Airport, where landing aircraft pass at rooftop height over Maho Beach, drawing crowds of thrill-seekers every day. The 1648 Mount Concordia Treaty, dividing this sliver of land between France and the Netherlands, created the world's smallest territory shared by two nations. The dry season from December to April is optimal.

3. Day 3

   Gustavia

   Saint Barthélemy

Gustavia, the capital of Saint Barthélemy, is a charming port known for its luxurious yachts, vibrant boutiques, and rich historical tapestry. Must-do experiences include exploring Fort Karl for stunning views and indulging in local dishes like accras de morue while enjoying the sun at Colombier Beach. The best season to visit is from December to April, when the weather is pleasantly warm and the island is bustling with activity.

4. Day 4

   Charlestown, Nevis

   Saint Kitts and Nevis

Charlestown is the two-thousand-person capital of Nevis, birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, where eighteenth-century Georgian architecture and the Caribbean's first hotel line streets untouched by mass tourism. Visit December through April via Windstar or Ponant for Hamilton heritage, volcanic hot springs, Pinney's Beach perfection, and the rare Caribbean experience of being a guest rather than a tourist.

5. Day 5

   Falmouth, Antigua

   Antigua and Barbuda

Falmouth Harbour, Antigua, is home to Nelson's Dockyard—the world's only continuously operating Georgian naval dockyard, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site where colonial-era sail lofts and officers' quarters have been beautifully restored. Must-dos include exploring the dockyard, hiking to Shirley Heights for sunset views, and sampling Antigua's black pineapple. December through April is the dry season, with Sailing Week in April the calendar highlight.

6. Day 6

   Iles Des Saintes

   Guadeloupe

Îles des Saintes is a volcanic archipelago off Guadeloupe renowned for its pastel Creole village of Terre-de-Haut, the historic Fort Napoléon, and one of the Caribbean's most beautiful bays. Visitors should savour the iconic tourment d'amour coconut tart and explore the fortifications that witnessed the pivotal 1782 Battle of the Saintes. The dry season from December through May offers the most luminous skies and calmest seas, aligning perfectly with the Caribbean cruise calendar.

7. Day 7

   Soufriere

   Saint Lucia

Soufrière sits beneath Saint Lucia's iconic twin Pitons — UNESCO World Heritage volcanic peaks rising 700 meters from the Caribbean — with a drive-in volcano, Diamond Botanical Gardens, and thriving coral reefs completing the island's most naturally spectacular destination. Visit December through April via Silversea or Windstar for Gros Piton summit views, geothermal springs, and the primal Caribbean beauty that no resort amenity can replicate.

8. Day 8

   Bridgetown, Barbados

   Barbados

Bridgetown, Barbados's compact and convivial capital, carries three centuries of uninterrupted British colonial heritage — a UNESCO World Heritage Site of Georgian townhouses, coral-stone churches, and the Garrison Savannah, whose racecourse is the oldest in the Western Hemisphere — all infused with the irresistible rhythms of a proud Caribbean nation. The island's culinary scene has matured into one of the Caribbean's most sophisticated, with flying fish cutter sandwiches from roadside stalls competing for devotion with the elegant seafood preparations of the Platinum Coast's celebrated restaurants. Visit December through May for the driest season; the island's sheltered west coast offers superlative year-round sailing conditions.

9. Day 9

   Speightstown

   Barbados

Speightstown is the historic "Little Bristol" of Barbados's northwestern coast, where colonial architecture, the Arlington House Museum, and one of the Caribbean's oldest churches preserve the island's sugar-trading heritage. Must-dos include tasting flying fish and cou-cou at beach-side restaurants, swimming with sea turtles, and relaxing on the golden sands of Mullins Beach. December through May offers the driest, most comfortable weather.

10. Day 10

    Kingstown

    Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Kingstown, the compact and historically rich capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, offers visitors Georgian architecture, the Western Hemisphere's oldest botanic gardens, and a vibrant covered market brimming with tropical spices and local produce. Must-do experiences include tasting roasted breadfruit with saltfish buljol at the Halifax Street market and exploring the Grenadine island chain stretching southward to Union Island. The dry season from January to May aligns perfectly with peak cruise itineraries and delivers warm, clear days ideal for volcano hikes and harbour-side exploration.

11. Day 11

    Port Elizabeth, Bequia

    Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Port Elizabeth is the beguiling waterfront capital of Bequia, a former whaling island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines where Caribbean authenticity endures in gingerbread cottages, hand-built schooners, and charcoal-grilled lobster on the sand. Stroll the Belmont Walkway for the island's finest harbour views, then sail to the Tobago Cays for world-class snorkelling among sea turtles. The dry season from December through May offers the most reliable sunshine and the peak of luxury cruise calls into sheltered Admiralty Bay.

12. Day 12

    Mayreau

    Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Mayreau is the smallest inhabited island in the Grenadines, a car-free Caribbean gem with fewer than three hundred residents, the exquisite Salt Whistle Bay beach, and views across the pristine Tobago Cays Marine Park. Must-do experiences include snorkelling with sea turtles in the Tobago Cays, feasting on fresh grilled lobster, and watching sunset from the hilltop church. January through May's dry season offers the most reliable weather.

13. Day 13

    Union Island

    Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

Union Island, the southernmost gem in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, rises from the Caribbean as a volcanic sentinel that generations of sailors have used as a landmark on the passage to the Grenadines — its Twin Peaks offering spectacular hikes rewarded with panoramas across a tapestry of cays, reefs, and indigo water. The island serves as the yachting hub of the southern Grenadines, with Clifton Harbour bustling with sloops bound for Tobago Cays, Palm Island, and Carriacou. The dry season from December through May delivers the Caribbean's finest sailing conditions and crystal-clear visibility for diving the thriving coral gardens.
