Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Athens (Piraeus), Greece

   Greece

Piraeus, the bustling port city of Athens, is a vibrant blend of ancient history and modern charm, inviting travelers to explore its rich culture. Must-do experiences include savoring traditional Greek dishes at the Varvakeios Agora and embarking on day trips to nearby islands like Symi and Nydri. The best time to visit is during the spring and fall when the weather is pleasant and the tourist crowds are fewer.

2. Day 2

   Delos

   Greece

Delos is the sacred birthplace of Apollo and one of the Mediterranean's most significant archaeological sites, where an entire ancient Greek city of temples, theatres, and merchant houses survives on a tiny Cycladic island. Must-see experiences include the Terrace of the Lions, the mosaic floors of the merchant quarter, and the panoramic view from Mount Kynthos. April through October is the visiting season, with spring and autumn most comfortable for exploration.

3. Day 2

   Mykonos

   Greece

Mykonos is the Aegean at its most seductive — a labyrinth of bougainvillea-draped whitewashed alleys designed to disorient pirates (and occasionally visitors) leading to Kástro, the medieval hilltop quarter overlooking Little Venice, where balconied houses hang directly above the sea. The island's famous windmills, perched on a ridge above the old harbour, are best photographed at golden hour as pelicans patrol the waterfront below. Visit the sacred archaeological island of Delos — a 30-minute boat crossing — for one of the most significant ancient sites in the Greek world. May, June, and September offer the perfect balance of warmth, light, and bearable crowds.

4. Day 3

   Patmos

   Greece

Patmos, an enchanting port in the Aegean Sea, is renowned for its spiritual history and stunning architecture, highlighted by the Monastery of St. John. Visitors must indulge in local delicacies like moussaka and fava while exploring charming markets. The best season to visit is during the spring and early fall, when the weather is mild, and the island is less crowded.

5. Day 4

   Santorini

   Greece

Santorini, the ancient volcanic caldera rising from the Aegean, is Greece's most theatrical landscape — a crescentic island of sheer white cliffs plunging into an indigo sea, its clifftop villages of Fira and Oia draped in bougainvillea and culminating in the world's most photographed sunset. The island's unique Assyrtiko wine, grown on ancient ungrafted vines in volcanic pumice, is one of the Mediterranean's greatest expressions of terroir. Byzantine frescoes of extraordinary beauty fill the Prehistoric Museum of Thera. The volcanic black and red sand beaches of Perissa and Perivolos are unlike any others in Greece. April through June and September through October offer the finest conditions.

6. Day 5

   Kos

   Greece

Kos is a compelling Mediterranean port in Greece where centuries of history, vibrant local cuisine, and luminous coastal scenery converge. Visitors should explore the historic quarters on foot and surrender to the local dining culture, where fresh seafood and regional wines provide a masterclass in Mediterranean living. Best visited October through April, when cooler temperatures and lower humidity create ideal conditions. Cruise lines including Emerald Yacht Cruises feature this port on their most compelling itineraries. Whether you have a few hours or a full day, the port rewards exploration at every pace and in every direction.

7. Day 6

   Bodrum

   Turkey

Bodrum is the site of ancient Halicarnassus and one of the Seven Wonders, now a whitewashed Aegean resort town where the Knights Hospitaller castle houses the world's finest underwater archaeology museum. Visit June or September via Explora Journeys or Virgin Voyages for peninsula village dining, Bronze Age shipwreck treasures, and Turkey's most seductive balance of ancient heritage and contemporary Mediterranean sophistication.

8. Day 7

   Rhodes

   Greece

Rhodes, Greece's resplendent Dodecanese jewel, merges a UNESCO-listed Medieval Old Town built by the Knights of St. John with sun-soaked Aegean beauty just seven miles from the Turkish coast. Wander the Street of the Knights before tasting *pitaroudia* fritters and local Athiri wine at an Old Town taverna, then take a catamaran to the neoclassical harbor of Symi. The island basks in over 300 days of sunshine annually, with April through June and September through October offering ideal temperatures for exploration without the peak-summer crowds.

9. Day 8

   Antalya

   Turkey

Antalya is the Turkish Riviera's finest city, combining a beautifully preserved Ottoman old town, ancient Roman ruins, and a dramatic clifftop setting above the Mediterranean. Must-dos include wandering the lanes of Kaleiçi, visiting the perfectly preserved Roman theater at Aspendos, and savoring an expansive Turkish breakfast overlooking the sea. Spring (April–June) and autumn (September–November) offer the ideal blend of warm weather and manageable crowds for exploring this two-thousand-year-old city.

10. Day 9

    Paphos

    Cyprus

Paphos is a UNESCO-inscribed Cypriot city whose Roman mosaic masterpieces, royal necropolis, and legendary birth site of Aphrodite make it one of the eastern Mediterranean's most archaeologically rich destinations. Must-dos include viewing the breathtaking floor mosaics in the Archaeological Park, exploring the underground Tombs of the Kings, and dining on meze at a harbor taverna. Visit March to May or September to November for comfortable temperatures.

11. Day 10

    Larnaca

    Cyprus

Larnaca is a historic Cypriot coastal city layered with Mycenaean, Phoenician, Byzantine, and Ottoman heritage, where the ninth-century Church of Saint Lazarus and a flamingo-filled salt lake share the shoreline with Mediterranean beaches. Must-do experiences include the waterfront meze dining, visiting the Choirokoitia Neolithic UNESCO site, and watching flamingos on the Salt Lake from November through March. Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) provide the most comfortable temperatures for combining beach relaxation with archaeological exploration of one of the Mediterranean's most historically layered cities.
