Emerald Yacht Cruises

Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Miami, Florida

   United States

Miami is a city of perpetual reinvention — the Art Deco jewel of South Beach giving way to the street-art murals of Wynwood, the Cuban rhythms of Calle Ocho, and the glass-and-steel towers of a skyline that has redrawn itself every decade since Julia Tuttle convinced Henry Flagler to extend his railroad south in 1896. Must-dos include strolling the pastel-fronted Ocean Drive at dusk and exploring the world-class collections at the Pérez Art Museum Miami overlooking Biscayne Bay. November through April delivers idyllic weather — warm and dry — while summer brings heat, humidity, and hurricane risk. Miami handles cruise departures elegantly, with the Port of Miami a short taxi ride from the best neighbourhoods.

2. Day 2

   Nassau

   Bahamas

Nassau wears its layered past lightly — pirates once commanded these shores, and the elegant colonial facades along Bay Street still whisper of British rule — but today the Bahamian capital is above all a place of cerulean water and indolent pleasure. The Queen's Staircase, 65 steps hand-carved from solid limestone by enslaved labourers in the late 18th century, and the clifftop ruins of Fort Fincastle reward those who venture beyond the waterfront boutiques. Paradise Island's Harbour island, accessible by water taxi, delivers some of the Atlantic's most celebrated pink-sand beaches. Nassau is year-round in climate; November through April brings the most reliably perfect weather.

3. Day 3

   Emerald Bay

   Bahamas

4. Day 4

   Cockburn Town, San Salvador Island

   Bahamas

Cockburn Town on San Salvador Island is the probable site of Columbus's first New World landfall in 1492, set on one of the Bahamas' least-developed islands with world-class wall diving along submarine cliffs that drop four thousand metres just offshore. Must-do experiences include visiting the Columbus monument, diving the spectacular walls, and spotting flamingos on the inland lakes. November through May offers the most comfortable weather and clearest skies.

5. Day 5

   Gordon's Beach, Long Island

   Bahamas

6. Day 6

   Grand Turk

   Turks and Caicos Islands

Grand Turk, the capital of the Turks and Caicos Islands, is a captivating port known for its rich history and stunning natural beauty. Must-do experiences include savoring local dishes like conch fritters and exploring the nearby paradise of Providenciales. The best time to visit is from December to April, when the weather is most pleasant and ideal for beach activities.

7. Day 7

   Nassau

8. Day 8

   San Juan, Puerto Rico

   Puerto Rico

San Juan, Puerto Rico's radiant colonial capital, is one of the Americas' most compellingly layered cities — a place where the sixteenth-century fortresses of El Morro and San Cristóbal stand sentinel over streets of painted townhouses and flowering balconies. The cobblestoned lanes of Old San Juan pulse with world-class rum bars, ceviche stands, and rooftop restaurants serving the island's vibrant cocina criolla. La Fortaleza, the oldest executive mansion in the Western Hemisphere still in use, anchors the historic district. Florecer, the district's famed bioluminescent bay, glows emerald after dark. January through April offers the most idyllic conditions.

9. Day 9

Cruz Bay, St John, US Virgin Islands

   U.S. Virgin Islands

Cruz Bay, St John, US Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, delivers the Caribbean at its most authentic—stunning waters, vibrant culture, and cuisine that blends African, European, and indigenous traditions into something boldly distinctive. Don't miss the local food scene and the exceptional snorkeling. Best experienced December through April, during the dry season when skies are clearest and seas are calmest. Cruise lines including Windstar Cruises feature this port on their most compelling itineraries. Whether you have a few hours or a full day, the port rewards exploration at every pace and in every direction.

10. Day 10

    Nevis

    Saint Kitts and Nevis

Nevis is a volcanic Caribbean island of refined charm, known as Alexander Hamilton's birthplace and home to some of the Caribbean's finest plantation inn hotels, all dominated by the cloud-wrapped cone of Nevis Peak. Must-do experiences include visiting the Hamilton Museum in Charlestown, soaking in volcanic hot springs, and touring the restored plantation estates. December through April offers the driest weather, while the green season brings lush landscapes and fewer visitors.

11. Day 11

    Falmouth, Antigua

    Antigua and Barbuda

Falmouth Harbour, Antigua, is home to Nelson's Dockyard—the world's only continuously operating Georgian naval dockyard, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site where colonial-era sail lofts and officers' quarters have been beautifully restored. Must-dos include exploring the dockyard, hiking to Shirley Heights for sunset views, and sampling Antigua's black pineapple. December through April is the dry season, with Sailing Week in April the calendar highlight.

12. Day 12

    Gustavia

    Saint Barthélemy

Gustavia, the capital of Saint Barthélemy, is a charming port known for its luxurious yachts, vibrant boutiques, and rich historical tapestry. Must-do experiences include exploring Fort Karl for stunning views and indulging in local dishes like accras de morue while enjoying the sun at Colombier Beach. The best season to visit is from December to April, when the weather is pleasantly warm and the island is bustling with activity.

13. Day 13

    Prickly Pear Island

    Antigua and Barbuda

Prickly Pear Island is an uninhabited Caribbean cay north of Antigua where pristine white-sand beaches, a tidal sandbar, and exceptional coral reefs create the essence of tropical paradise without resort infrastructure. Must-dos include snorkeling the vibrant reef systems in 30-meter visibility, swimming the calm Caribbean-side beach, and savoring grilled lobster at the seasonal beach bar. Visit December through April for the driest weather and calmest seas.

14. Day 14

    St. Thomas, USVI

    U.S. Virgin Islands

Charlotte Amalie, the capital of St. Thomas, unfolds across a hillside of Danish colonial buildings and cobblestone alleys above one of the Caribbean's most celebrated natural harbors, its duty-free shops and waterfront markets reflecting three centuries of mercantile tradition. Beyond the vibrant town, the island's real splendor reveals itself at Magens Bay — a sheltered arc of powdery sand consistently ranked among the world's most beautiful beaches — and at Coral World Ocean Park, where underwater observatories and sea encounters delight. The Caribbean's reliably warm and sunny climate makes St. Thomas a compelling destination throughout the year.
