Emerald Yacht Cruises

Daily Itinerary

1. Day 1

   Dubrovnik

   Croatia

Dubrovnik, Croatia's stunning port city, is a blend of rich history, dramatic architecture, and vibrant culture, making it a must-visit destination. Don't miss a stroll along the city walls for breathtaking views and savor local dishes like "peka" and "black risotto." The best time to visit is in late spring or early fall when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are thinner.

2. Day 2

   Kotor

   Montenegro

The port of Kotor, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and rich historical tapestry. A must-do experience includes wandering the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, where culinary delights like "kacamak" and fresh seafood await. The best time to visit is during the spring or early fall, when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are fewer.

3. Day 3

   Sarande

   Albania

Sarandë is Albania's Ionian coast jewel, where the UNESCO-listed Butrint archaeological marvel and the impossibly turquoise Blue Eye spring create a Mediterranean experience rivaling Greece at a fraction of the cost. Visit June via Emerald Yacht Cruises or Virgin Voyages for six-civilization archaeological sites and Albania's exciting Mediterranean frontier.

4. Day 4

   Corfu

   Greece

Where Homer placed the island of the Phaeacians and four centuries of Venetian rule left their most enduring Mediterranean legacy, Corfu is a singular island of extraordinary historical depth and natural beauty. The UNESCO-listed Old Town — its narrow Kantounia alleyways, the elegant Liston arcade, and twin Venetian fortresses — is the finest preserved Venetian streetscape in Greece. Beyond the town, secret coves, olive groves of immense antiquity, and mountain villages offer weeks of unhurried discovery. May through June and September offer perfect conditions: warm sea temperatures, clear skies, and the island before or after its summer crescendo.

5. Day 5

   Parga

   Greece

Parga is a Venetian-influenced coastal town on Greece's Ionian shore, where pastel houses cascade beneath a hilltop fortress to turquoise beaches rivaling any island destination. Visit from May through October for swimming, ancient sites including the Oracle of the Dead, and the most authentic Greek waterfront dining on the mainland coast.

6. Day 6

   Lefkáda Island

   Greece

Lefkada is an Ionian island connected to mainland Greece by a causeway, famous for its dramatic white cliffs and beaches like Porto Katsiki that rank among the Mediterranean's most spectacular. Must-dos include swimming at the cliff-backed western beaches, tasting savoro fish and local Vertzami wine, and sailing to the unspoiled nearby islands of Meganisi and Kastos. Visit June or September for warm seas, pleasant temperatures, and fewer crowds.

7. Day 7

   Itea

   Greece

Itea is the Gulf of Corinth port serving ancient Delphi — the most important oracle of the ancient world — where the Sacred Way, Temple of Apollo, and the extraordinary Charioteer bronze await on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Visit April through June or September through November via Seabourn or Ponant for the ascent through a million-tree olive grove to the site where ancient Greeks believed the navel of the Earth could be found.

8. Day 8

   Piraeus

   Greece

The port that launched Athenian democracy's naval supremacy at the Battle of Salamis, Piraeus remains Greece's maritime heartbeat — and the most convenient gateway to both the Acropolis and the Aegean island chains. Dine on grilled sea bream at a Mikrolimano harbourside taverna, visit the extraordinary bronze Piraeus Apollo, and set sail for Hydra or Santorini by afternoon. Late April through June and September offer the Aegean at its most golden and uncrowded.

9. Day 9

   Delos

   Greece

Delos is the sacred birthplace of Apollo and one of the Mediterranean's most significant archaeological sites, where an entire ancient Greek city of temples, theatres, and merchant houses survives on a tiny Cycladic island. Must-see experiences include the Terrace of the Lions, the mosaic floors of the merchant quarter, and the panoramic view from Mount Kynthos. April through October is the visiting season, with spring and autumn most comfortable for exploration.

10. Day 10

    Patmos

    Greece

Patmos, an enchanting port in the Aegean Sea, is renowned for its spiritual history and stunning architecture, highlighted by the Monastery of St. John. Visitors must indulge in local delicacies like moussaka and fava while exploring charming markets. The best season to visit is during the spring and early fall, when the weather is mild, and the island is less crowded.

11. Day 11

    Kusadasi

    Turkey

Kuşadası owes its place on the world's cruise itineraries to one extraordinary proximity: the ancient city of Ephesus, one of the greatest metropolises of the Greco-Roman world, lies just seventeen kilometres from the port. Ephesus — with its two-kilometre marble colonnade, the Library of Celsus, and the Temple of Artemis (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World) — demands at least half a day of unhurried exploration. The House of the Virgin Mary, a pilgrimage site believed to be where Mary spent her final years, adds a profound spiritual dimension. Kuşadası itself is a lively Aegean resort; the season runs April through October, with May and September offering ideal temperatures and smaller crowds.

12. Day 12

    Kos

    Greece

Kos is a compelling Mediterranean port in Greece where centuries of history, vibrant local cuisine, and luminous coastal scenery converge. Visitors should explore the historic quarters on foot and surrender to the local dining culture, where fresh seafood and regional wines provide a masterclass in Mediterranean living. Best visited October through April, when cooler temperatures and lower humidity create ideal conditions. Cruise lines including Emerald Yacht Cruises feature this port on their most compelling itineraries. Whether you have a few hours or a full day, the port rewards exploration at every pace and in every direction.

13. Day 13

    Santorini

    Greece

Santorini, the ancient volcanic caldera rising from the Aegean, is Greece's most theatrical landscape — a crescentic island of sheer white cliffs plunging into an indigo sea, its clifftop villages of Fira and Oia draped in bougainvillea and culminating in the world's most photographed sunset. The island's unique Assyrtiko wine, grown on ancient ungrafted vines in volcanic pumice, is one of the Mediterranean's greatest expressions of terroir. Byzantine frescoes of extraordinary beauty fill the Prehistoric Museum of Thera. The volcanic black and red sand beaches of Perissa and Perivolos are unlike any others in Greece. April through June and September through October offer the finest conditions.

14. Day 14

    Paros

    Greece

Paros is the Cycladic island of luminous marble — the stone that sculpted the Venus de Milo — where ancient quarries, one of Greece's oldest Byzantine churches, and the fishing village of Naoussa offer the authentic Aegean experience that Santorini and Mykonos have traded for fame. Visit May through October via Ponant or Explora Journeys for a Cycladic island that travelers discover second but return to for life.

15. Day 15

    Piraeus
