The sea can be experienced particularly intensively on the spacious teak pool deck. Impressive focal point is the long pool that invites guests to calmly swim their lengths or exercise with gentle aqua-fitness. Here, at the heart of the EUROPA 2, there is plenty of room for each individual guest to let his thoughts wander and simply do nothing. Comfortable sun lounges are available for every guest to enjoy either the sun or shade – both in pleasant airy as well as sheltered areas.

Pentru copiii începând cu vârsta de 2 ani, există specialiști calificați în îngrijirea copiilor care organizează atât evenimente speciale pentru cei mici la bord, cât și excursii dedicate copiilor și adolescenților. Orele de supraveghere pentru copiii de la 4 ani în sus sunt, de regulă, între 9:00 și 17:00, respectiv între 18:30 și 22:00. Pentru adolescenții de la 11 ani în sus, supravegherea are loc, în mod obișnuit, între 9:00 și 17:00 și între 18:30 și 21:00. În această perioadă, sunt oferite jocuri, activități sportive și programe creative. Kids' Club și Teens' Club pun la dispoziție camere pentru joacă supravegheată, accesibile parțial și în afara orelor de supraveghere, iar echipamentele sunt adaptate grupei de vârstă vizate.

De asemenea, în cadrul croazierelor familiale, punem la dispoziție activități speciale pe uscat pentru copii și adolescenți (contra cost). Totodată, putem asigura o bonă pentru seară prin intermediul bonei șefe (în funcție de disponibilitate și contra cost). If you have any health problems, you can use a modern ship's hospital on board our ships, which is run by an experienced ship's doctor. Please note the consultation hours posted on board.

A basic supply of medication is available on board. We ask our guests to bring their necessary medication with them in sufficient quantities.

Treatment on the ship is equivalent to a visit to the doctor abroad (flag state Malta). German fee guidelines and German health insurance do not apply on board. We therefore recommend taking out private foreign travel health insurance. Payment is made via the on-board account; billing via insurance card is not possible.

On this ship there are two barrier-free penthouse suites (category 13, deck 8, suites 811 and 813, living space 42 m² each, veranda 10 m²).

If you are bringing a rollator with you, please inform us in advance on the above details. There are no additional costs for you. On flights, the rollator is considered hand luggage.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide transport in the Zodiac for guests who are dependent on a wheelchair. Disembarkation in tender boats (when the ship is at anchor) is also dependent on the weather conditions and cannot always be guaranteed. To ensure that you have a relaxing trip that runs smoothly, please let us know the type of mobility restriction you have before booking and clarify with us whether we can meet your individual needs.

Please note that participation in land activities and disembarkation with Zodiacs (weather permitting) may prove impossible for guests with physical disabilities. We reserve the right to make participation in group activities dependent on the ability to complete the entire activity without any problems and without external assistance. To ensure that you have a relaxing trip that runs smoothly, please inform us of the nature of your mobility impairment before booking and clarify with us whether we can meet your individual needs.

On board

There is no set dress code on board the EUROPA 2 during the day. In the evening, however, gentlemen visiting the restaurants on Deck 4 and the Sushi Restaurant Sakura should wear smart casual attire – namely, a long-sleeved shirt, a jacket or a summer suit; short trousers and T-shirts of any kind are not permitted. A tie is not required. In the Yacht Club Restaurant, it is not necessary to wear a jacket in the evening.

Ashore

For excursions or private trips ashore, clothing should be particularly comfortable and practical as well as suited to the route you will travel. Sturdy footwear is recommended and flat shoes are indispensable when on board the ship and ashore. For Zodiac excursions, especially in colder regions, we recommend that you wear waterproof clothing to keep you dry.

The private use of drones is not permitted on board our cruise ships. This applies during the cruise and during lay times in port, as well as at landing points in remote regions. In polar regions, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises places great value on respecting international agreements to protect sensitive natural environments and the animal kingdom in particular. In other regions of the world, approval for the use of drones ashore must be made by the passengers individually and without any intervention by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. As well as a drone licence, which users must acquire in their country of origin, the relevant approval must be available for presentation at all times. Please take these instructions seriously, since passengers who are in breach of these regulations and licensing requirements will be liable to prosecution.

The EUROPA 2 is equipped with a satellite communications system. Provided the connection to the news satellite is available locally, you can make direct telephone calls to any destination worldwide. Please be aware that a charge is incurred immediately upon dialling a telephone number.

In the interest of all guests, we kindly ask you not to make calls on mobile phones in the restaurants.

If somebody from back home wishes to call you aboard the ship, the satellite communications system also allows for a direct telephone connection on board. Phone no. of the EUROPA 2: 00870 773233732

Please note that the caller will be charged as soon as he or she dials the telephone or fax number of the EUROPA 2. The caller can enquire with his telephone provider about the precise fees for a satellite phone call or fax; these are beyond the influence of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises.

The EUROPA 2 is GSM enabled by WMS. WMS is a provider of onboard connectivity for cruise ships and planes. This system enables you to use your personal mobile phone or smartphone at sea in areas where your mobile provider cannot generally guarantee connectivity. The system is normally available outside the 12-mile zone. Within the EU, the WMS system will be activated as soon as we are two miles away from the coast.

Via the guest portal, you have a direct Internet access. In addition, the whole ship is equipped with Wi-Fi hotspots via which you can access the Internet using a laptop or the tablet available in your suite. Internet use is free of charge for one hour per guest per day.

Stay in touch with your loved ones!

The ships in the Hapag-Lloyd Cruises fleet are all equipped with the modern STARLINK satellite system, which provides you with a fast Internet connection on the high seas. This service is available to our guests free of charge for 60 minutes every day. You can use this time to write to your friends and family back home and share your latest pictures or surf the Internet. If you need more than an hour to tell all your stories, you are welcome to remain online for a surcharge.

Fees

• One hour means the total duration of Internet use (60 minutes), regardless of how often you log in and log out. For example, you can divide this hour into three sessions of 20 minutes.
• Time that is unused on one day cannot be carried over to the next day. Unused credit will expire at the end of a calendar day at 0.00 hrs (ship’s time).
• For additional use of the Internet in excess of the free 60 minutes attractive Internet packages with different data volumes are available.
• On board our fleet you can book the following data packages in addition:
  - Data package S: 1 GB: € 19
  - Data package M: 5 GB: € 69
  - Data package L: 10 GB: € 119
  - Data package XL: 25 GB: € 225
  - Social Media package: € 5 for 24 hours (valid for Facebook, WhatsApp (without telephony), X and Instagram).
• The following guests enjoy free and unlimited Internet access:
• MS EUROPA: guests staying in Spa Suites, Penthouse Deluxe Suites and Penthouse Grand Suites
• MS EUROPA 2: guests staying in Grand Penthouse and Owner Suites

• Use of the private ship email account is free 24 hours a day.
• Each guest can have a maximum of two devices online at the same time.

Technical information

• The transmission speed may fluctuate depending on the ship’s position.
• Email, Internet and telephone connectivity depends on satellites and cannot always be guaranteed due to the weather and the ship’s position, in particular in extremely northerly and southerly cruising areas. In extreme regions, such as the Arctic and Antarctica, the Internet, email and telephone service may not be available on a daily basis due to satellite positioning.
• Data-intensive services (such as Skype), streaming services (e.g. Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube), file-sharing platforms and download libraries (e.g. iTunes) cannot be used for technical reasons. 

A photographer is on board on every cruise to take pictures during the cruise and on shore. Upon request, they will also print your own photos on photographic paper or burn your digital photos on to a CD (for a fee). In addition there is usually a video producer on board who will record your cruise for you on film. Photos and the film can be purchased.Regen- und Sonnenschirme stehen Ihnen bei Bedarf leihweise zur Verfügung.

Smoking is not permitted in any of the suites. Smoking is permitted on the veranda. Please use the ashtrays provided in all public areas where smoking is permitted.

• Smoking area of the outdoor area of the Sansibar (interior area of the Sansibar is non-smoking)
• Cigars, cigarillos and pipes may only be smoked in the Collins and in the outside area on the starboard side of the Sansibar
• All external decks, with the exception of the magrodome area and the outer terrace of the Yacht Club Restaurant, are smoking zones

A range of cigarette brands is available for you to purchase on board our ships. Depending on the cruising area, these may also be offered duty free.

On board our expedition ships HANSEATIC nature, HANSEATIC inspiration & HANSEATIC spirit, you will find a small selection of cigars.

In the Havana Bar on the EUROPA and in the Collins on the EUROPA 2, you will find a large selection of tobacco products.

The on-board languages are German and English.

Expectant mothers who are or will be less than 24 weeks pregnant at the time of embarkation must produce a certificate from an appropriate medical specialist (gynaecologist) confirming that they are fit to travel in the territory covered by the cruise itinerary. We are unable to carry expectant mothers in the 24th week of pregnancy at the time of embarkation or who will enter the 24th week of pregnancy during the cruise.

We request that you contact our sales team in advance if you are considering exotic destinations or cruises where you will be at sea for many days in succession (e.g. transatlantic).
