We have a limited number of staterooms per ship that are wheelchair accessible with grab rails in the bathrooms, lower sinks and toilets, shower seats, raised beds, adjustable hanging rods in wardrobes, tilting mirrors and extra wide doors for easy access.

If you do use a wheelchair, you must bring your own and it must be collapsible. If you do not wish to bring your own wheelchair on board, please contact our U.S.-based supplier Scooteround on 001 (888) 441 7575 to arrange delivery of one to the ship. All wheelchairs and scooters must be stored in your stateroom; they cannot be left in the hallway or any other public area. To ensure the safety of our guests and crew, wheelchairs may not be used to transfer from the ship to a tender. For hearing-/ vision-impaired guests, we have a limited number of staterooms with vibrating alarm clocks and a flashing light system alerting guests to fire alarms. For the vision-impaired, we allow registered guide dogs on all Norwegian Cruise Line ships (airline and international quarantine restrictions may apply and should be checked before booking your cruise).

Guests who need oxygen or require oxygen therapy are welcome on all Norwegian Cruise Line ships; however, you must supply your own oxygen. U.S.-based Special Needs at Sea is the only company allowed to deliver and supply oxygen to Norwegian Cruise Line ships. Any physical challenge or medical condition that requires special treatment or attention must be reported to Norwegian Cruise Line at the time of booking. If you are on a low calorie diet, breakfast, lunch and dinner menus feature low calorie, haute cuisine dishes. Sugar-free and fat-free desserts are also available. This form can be obtained and completed at the Guest Services Desk upon embarkation of the vessel. In Alaska and Hawaii waters parental consent is NOT permitted for guests 18 to 20 years old.

Please note that with the exception of Wine and Champagne, all guests are prohibited from bringing alcohol on board our ships. If you purchase any alcohol at one of our ports-of-call or in our onboard shops, we will safely store your purchase(s) and either on the final night of the cruise or the morning of debarkation it will be available for pick up in a designated area.

China/Asia: Do not serve or sell alcohol to guests under 21 years of age. Parental consent is NOT permitted for guests 18 to 20 whilst in China/ Asia waters.

Roundtrip Australian, European and New Zealand Itineraries: Do not serve or sell alcohol to guests under 18 years of age. Parental consent is NOT required for guests 18 to 20 years old to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages.

Wine & Champagne Policy

Guests may bring bottles of wine and champagne on board. When bottles are brought on board and served or consumed in any restaurant, public room area or in their stateroom, a corkage fee will be charged according to bottle sizes noted below.

• 750 ml Bottle: $15.00 USD
• 1,500 ml Magnum: $30.00 USD

Wine or champagne sent directly to the ship by travel agents, friends, family, etc. or from another retail source, are subject to the same fees. Box wines are not allowed on board.

* Norwegian encourages the responsible use of alcohol and accordingly reserves the right to permanently or temporarily revoke the drinking privileges of any guest who violates Norwegian's Guest Code of Conduct or who is deemed a danger to himself, herself or others by vessel management. Continued abuse of alcohol whilst sailing and/or violation of Norwegian's alcohol policy may result in immediate disembarkation.

Non-Alcoholic Beverages Policy

Effective for sailings July 15, 2016 and beyond, guests are prohibited from bringing any beverages -- including liquor, beer and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, soda and juices -- on board either as carry-on or checked luggage, with the exception of purified or distilled water in factory-sealed containers for use in conjunction with medical devices or for the reconstitution of infant formula; and fully sealed and/or corked wine bottles for personal consumption onboard that is subject to screening and a corkage fee (for guests 21 years of age or older). Open beverages of any kind must be consumed or discarded at the security check-point, on embarkation day and at any port of call. This revised policy brings the company in line with other best practise travel security protocols and reduces the need for individual time consuming screening and package inspection of large volumes of beverages.

Why the change in policy?

The inspection of large volumes of beverages has an impact on the embarkation process and security resources. As one example, guests who attempt to smuggle alcoholic beverages onboard often try to do so in beverage containers. This means all beverages must be personally screened, taking both time and dedicated personnel.

This modified policy will now bring us in line with other travel industry procedures for transporting beverages and allow security personnel to focus on other screening efforts and not individually inspecting all beverages being brought onboard.

What if I purchase a beverage in a port of call?

Guests will not be permitted to bring any beverages onboard the ship in ports of call and any locally-purchased beverages will be disposed of prior to embarkation. No open containers of beverages, including water, will be allowed onboard during a port of call.

If you purchase any alcohol at one of our ports-of-call or in our onboard shops, we will safely store your purchase and either on the final night of the cruise or the morning of debarkation it will be available for pick up in a designated area.

What happens if I bring a case of water to the ship?

Guests who bring beverages to embarkation will be directed to return the items to their vehicle. If the guest does not have a vehicle onsite, the items will be disposed of.

If I need to bring water or milk onboard for a medical reason or infant, what’s the process?

Guests who have special needs, medical requirements, or families with infants who require water for formula or milk, should contact the access desk at accessdesk@ncl.com to verify if an exception can be made for their beverage and to obtain pre-approval to provide to security at embarkation.

Is the water onboard safe to drink?

All of our ships produce water in accordance with the guidelines and requirements as defined by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Public Health Service, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Centre for Environmental Health.

Can I still bring wine on board?

Yes, guests may bring sealed bottles of wine on board for personal consumption. They will be checked prior to embarkation and a corkage fee applied at that time of $15.00 USD for a 750 ml Bottle or $30.00 USD for a 1,500 ml Magnum bottle. Box wines are not allowed on board.

Guests who purchase a beverage package, or who have a beverage package as part of the Free At Sea promotion, will not be charged a corkage fee.

Why can I bring wine but not other beverages?

As very few guests bring wine onboard, the team is able to easily and quickly screen these items.

Inomhusområden

Cigarrlounge: Cigarrökning är tillåten i den särskilda cigarrloungen. Cigaretter, pipa, elektroniska cigaretter och ångrör är inte tillåtna i cigarrloungen. På Norwegian Sky, Norwegian Sun, Norwegian Star och Pride of America är cigarr- och piprökning endast tillåten i särskilda utomhusområden eftersom det inte finns någon cigarrlounge ombord.

Casinot: Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Joy och Norwegian Encore har ett särskilt rökrum inom casinot. På alla andra fartyg får aktiva casinospelare röka cigaretter, elektroniska cigaretter och ångrör i casinot under spelens öppettider. Cigarr- och piprökning är inte tillåten i casinot.

Kahytter: Gäster får inte röka cigaretter, cigarrer, pipa, elektroniska cigaretter eller ångrör i sina kahytter eller på sina balkonger. Rökning inomhus i kahytten eller på balkongen medför en rengöringsavgift på 250 USD som läggs till på ditt ombordkonto. Om cigarettbrännmärken upptäcks på möbler, sängkläder, handdukar eller mattor kommer gäster att informeras och debiteras för skadorna. Gäster i Garden Villas får röka i sin privata trädgård och på sina privata soldäck.

Utomhusområden

Rökning, inklusive cigarrer, pipa, elektroniska cigaretter och ångrör, är inte tillåten i eller nära matserveringsområden, joggingspår, utomhussportanläggningar, barnpooler, Vibe Beach Club, Posh Beach Club eller The Waterfront.

The Haven: På fartyg med The Haven-komplexet är rökning inte tillåten i The Havens innergård, men är tillåten på The Haven Sun Deck (framåt) på Breakaway Class och Breakaway Plus Class.

På Breakaway och Breakaway Plus Class-fartyg samt Norwegian Epic:

På Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Getaway och Norwegian Epic är cigaretter, elektroniska cigaretter, cigarrer, piprökning och ångrör tillåtna på däck 15 mittskepps på babordssidan (begränsat område) och vid Spice H2O på styrbordssidan.

På Norwegian Escape är cigaretter, elektroniska cigaretter, cigarrer, piprökning och ångrör tillåtna på däck 16 mittskepps på babordssidan (begränsat område) och vid Spice H2O på styrbordssidan.

På Norwegian Bliss och Norwegian Joy är cigaretter, elektroniska cigaretter, cigarrer, piprökning och ångrör tillåtna vid Spice H2O på styrbordssidan.

På Norwegian Encore är cigaretter, elektroniska cigaretter, cigarrer, piprökning och ångrör tillåtna i rökrummet på däck 8, babordssidan.

På Jewel och Star Class-fartyg samt Norwegian Spirit:

De särskilda rökområdena för cigaretter, elektroniska cigaretter, cigarrer, piprökning och ångrör är tillåtna på däck 13 framåt på babordssidan.

På Norwegian Sky och Norwegian Sun:

De särskilda rökområdena för cigaretter, elektroniska cigaretter, cigarrer, piprökning och ångrör är tillåtna på däck 12 framåt vid hela baren. Vid dåligt väder är däck 11 framåt på babordssidan vid handduksstationen ett tillfälligt alternativ.

På Pride of America:

Det särskilda rökområdet för cigaretter, cigarrer, pipa, elektroniska cigaretter och ångrör är tillåtet vid Waikiki-bar på däck 13 akterut.

När det gäller vad du ska bära kan du välja en avslappnad resortstil eller klä upp dig och se som allra bäst ut – valet är ditt. Känn dig fri att bära det du tycker om. Vi har till och med en speciell "Dress-Up or Not Night". Det är det perfekta tillfället att ta ett porträtt tillsammans med din familj, den speciella personen eller till och med med fartygets kapten.

Cruise Casual: Friheten med Freestyle Cruising

Klär du dig cruise casual när som helst under dagen, i buffén och i de flesta specialrestauranger. För kvinnor inkluderar det sommarklänningar och avslappnade klänningar, kjolar, vanliga eller capribyxor, shorts, jeans och toppar. Khakibyxor, jeans, shorts och avslappnade skjortor är passande för män. Badkläder är acceptabla i buffén och utomhusrestaurangen, men skjorta eller överdrag och skor krävs.

Glöm inte att packa en tröja – luftkonditioneringen kan vara kylig. Barn upp till 12 år är välkomna att bära fina shorts i alla våra restauranger.

Observera: Vi vill att du ska känna dig bekväm, men linnen för män, flip-flops, basebollkepsar, visirer samt jeans som är alltför blekta, har hål eller revor och bärs under höfterna är inte tillåtna i huvudmatsalar eller specialrestauranger.

Allt Uppklätt: Smart Casual

Klär du dig smart casual i vår mer formella matsal eller i våra mer exklusiva specialrestauranger. För kvinnor inkluderar det byxor eller jeans, klänningar, kjolar och toppar. För män är det jeans eller byxor med skjorta med krage och stängda skor. Barn upp till 12 år är välkomna att bära fina shorts i alla våra restauranger.

Redo för Äventyr: Utflykter i Land

Tänk på de utflykter du planerar att göra och packa därefter, inklusive bekväma promenadskor. För både barn och vuxna är det bra att packa ett par skor med stängd tå. Mer information finns i den specifika utflyktsbeskrivningen.

Handbagage

Gäster bör ta med en extra övernattningsväska eftersom alla resväskor samlas in kvällen innan vi återvänder till hemmahamnen.

Resetips:

• Handburet bagage måste kunna passera genom röntgenmaskiner, likt på flygplatser; om det är större måste det checkas in. (Ungefär 61 cm högt och 46 cm brett)
• Vi rekommenderar att gäster bär med sig mediciner, smycken, ömtåliga föremål eller andra värdesaker, ett extra ombyte för första kvällen ombord samt viktiga dokument (t.ex. pass och resehandlingar).

Produktion Ombord

Ombord på våra fartyg används vatten främst av våra gäster och besättning i deras hytter för duschar, badkar och handfat, men även i kök, tvätt, pooler, bubbelpooler, spa och för rengöring av allmänna utrymmen. Vi har lagt stor vikt vid att öka vattenproduktionen ombord med sofistikerade anläggningar som använder havsvatten som källa, vilket minskar behovet av att bunkra färskvatten. Detta är särskilt viktigt i länder där färskvatten är begränsat och bör reserveras för lokala samhällen.

• Omvänd osmos (RO) producerar färskt och tekniskt vatten från havsvatten med hjälp av högtryckspumpar och avancerade vattenfilter samt behandlingskomponenter.
• Avdunstare framställer färskvatten från havsvatten genom att använda värmekällor som avgaskedjor, oljeldade pannor eller spillvärme återvunnen från huvudmotorns högtemperaturkylsystem.
• Bunkrat vatten är dricksvatten som förvärvats i hamn för användning ombord.

Avloppsvattenbehandlingssystem

För att behandla avloppsvatten ombord är alla Norwegian Cruise Lines fartyg utrustade med avancerade reningssystem för avloppsvatten (AWP). Avloppsvattnet leds genom dessa system och renas innan utsläpp, vilket resulterar i ett utsläpp som uppfyller eller överträffar internationella regler och många kommunala reningsverksstandarder. Våra nyaste fartyg är utrustade med den ledande AWP-teknologin som uppfyller de stränga baltiska standarderna. Varje fartygs avloppsvatten testas kvartalsvis av en tredje part, och våra miljöansvariga genomför även veckovisa vattenkvalitetstester för att säkerställa att vi fortsätter att uppfylla alla krav.

Bilgevattnet

Avloppsvatten som samlas upp i maskin- och maskinrumsutrymmen kallas bilgevattnet. Det insamlade bilgevattnet förvaras i tankar och får endast släppas ut efter att ha uppfyllt internationella, nationella och företagets regler. För att säkerställa efterlevnad är alla fartyg utrustade med en automatisk stoppanordning och en oljehaltsmätare, vilka bekräftar fartygets följsamhet. Denna utrustning analyserar och registrerar oljehalten i bilgevattnet. Om bilgevattnet inte uppfyller kraven stoppas utsläppet automatiskt och bilgevattnet cirkuleras tills standarderna är uppfyllda. Det återstående bilgevattnet som inte kan släppas ut samlas upp och tas iland till en godkänd mottagare.

Ballastvatten

För att navigera säkert och bekvämt utför fartyg en operation som kallas ballastning, vilken säkerställer trim, stabilitet och strukturell integritet. Genom att fylla ballasttankarna med havsvatten stabiliseras fartygen, vilket ger komfort åt gäster och besättning. När vatten släpps ut eller bränsle förbrukas tar fartygen in havsvatten för att hjälpa till med stabiliseringen. Under denna process kan vissa arter "åka med" fartygen och spridas till många delar av världen, inklusive områden där de är icke-inhemska eller invasiva. Genom att behandla ballastvattnet innan det släpps ut avlägsnas små organismer som kan ha tagits upp under resan, för att skydda lokala ekosystem.

Our ships call on sensitive areas of the world, and we strive to lead by example as we strive to continue to be effective stewards. Norwegian enforces a zero-tolerance policy for any items thrown overboard. If an environmental incident is observed, guests, crew and shoreside employees are encouraged to use our environmental hotline.

Proper implementation of a progressive waste management programme lessens the environmental impact of our operations, reduces pollution, promotes diversion of material from landfills, conserves natural resources, saves energy and lowers ship fuel use. Waste is reduced through reusing and recycling, with clear benchmarks serving as our measurement for waste minimisation.

Over the past decade, as the availability of recycling programmes and options has increased, we have taken advantage of these programmes wherever possible. One example is when Norwegian partnered with Waste Management in 2010 to develop an industry-first Live Load offload operation. This partnership reduces offload time of waste, truck on-site time, port congestion, transportation costs and the use of pier-side containers. Our ships that used the Live Load model in 2017 were able to conserve the following:

• Both shoreside and shipboard employees have been involved in food and clothing drives
• Our shoreside employees and various crew members participate in beach clean-ups and community clean-ups throughout the year
• During ship refurbishment, options to recycle and donate both technical equipment and hotel furniture are always explored

Klimatförändringar är en av vår tids mest avgörande frågor. Utsläppsminskning

En innovativ teknik som våra fartyg använder för att minska avgaser är Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS). Denna teknik reducerar mängden svaveloxider och partiklar som släpps ut från fartyget genom att rena, eller skrubba, avgaserna innan de släpps ut genom skorstenen. Fartyg utrustade med denna teknologi kan minska SOx-utsläppen med upp till 99 procent. Från och med december 2020 är följande fartyg utrustade med denna teknik: Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Escape, Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Jade, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Joy, Norwegian Pearl, Norwegian Sun och Pride of America.

När fartygen ligger i hamn fortsätter våra kryssningsfartyg att generera egen energi för att tillhandahålla värme, luftkonditionering, belysning och varmvatten för gäster och besättning, på samma sätt som ett hotell.

Ett fåtal hamnar världen över har installerat infrastruktur som möjliggör för kryssningsfartyg att ansluta till landets elnät och därigenom försörja mycket av den energi som behövs när fartyget ligger vid kaj. Detta kallas Cold-Ironing och kan minska utsläppen från ett fartyg när det ligger i hamn. Av de över 450 hamnar vi besöker är mindre än 1 % utrustade med denna teknik. Från och med december 2020 är Norwegian Bliss, Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Joy och Norwegian Star utrustade med cold-ironing-funktionalitet.

Energibesparingar

Data samlas in från alla våra fartyg för att kartlägga de största energiförbrukarna ombord och för att hjälpa till att etablera nyckeltal som identifierar var energieffektiviteten kan förbättras. Vårt mål är att fokusera på de stora energiförbrukarna och utforska lösningar för att optimera driften och minska förbrukningen.

Plan för energieffektivitet ombord (SEEMP)

SEEMP är en fartygsspecifik plan som fokuserar på att förbättra energieffektiviteten. Detta gör vi genom att förbättra ruttplanering, optimera hastigheten eller driva motorerna på deras mest ekonomiska belastning, optimera luftkonditioneringssystemet och förbättra fartygets hydrodynamiska egenskaper genom att uppgradera framdrivningssystemen med mer effektiva propellrar. Ombord hålls även kvartalsvisa möten om energihantering för att diskutera energibesparingsprojekt, följa upp initiativ för energieffektivitet och planera framtida projekt.

Ett av de mest framgångsrika programmen som implementerats på våra fartyg är Wasted Heat Recovery (WHR). Denna process fungerar genom att återvinna värme från motorerna och överföra den till färskvattenledningar, vilket gör det möjligt för oss att använda en kostnadsfri energikälla för att förbättra vattenproduktionen och spara bränsle.

Alla nedanstående krav gäller vid ombordstigning. Spädbarn som reser med ett fartyg från Norwegian Cruise Line måste vara minst sex månader gamla. För resor med tre eller fler sammanhängande dagar till havs måste dock spädbarnet vara minst 12 månader gammalt.

Ombord definieras en minderårig som en person under 18 år vid ombordstigning. En ung vuxen definieras som en person mellan 18 och 20 år. Observera att detta inte gäller barnpriser, där åldersspannet är 2–17 år.

Företagets policy anger att på resor som inkluderar en hamn i USA, Kanada eller Taiwan måste gäster under 21 år ha sällskap i samma, anslutande eller intilliggande hytt av en gäst som är 21 år eller äldre vid ombordstigning (hytter mittemot varandra omfattas inte av denna regel). För alla andra kryssningar gäller denna regel för alla gäster under 18 år, med undantag för medborgare i USA, Kanada eller Taiwan. För gäster under 18 år som reser med en vuxen som inte är förälder eller vårdnadshavare, måste en föräldra-/vårdnadshavarbehörighetsblankett (finns här: www.ncl.eu/ParentGuardianForm) som godkänner resan och medicinsk behandling vid nödsituation lämnas till en representant från Norwegian Cruise Line vid kajen under incheckningen. Underlåtenhet att visa upp ifylld blankett vid ombordstigning kan leda till nekad ombordstigning utan återbetalning.

På kryssningar som inkluderar en kanadensisk hamn måste gäster under 18 år som reser med ensam förälder kunna uppvisa ett godkännande (helst notariellt bevittnat) från den förälder som inte reser med. Observera: Två personer under 21 år kan resa tillsammans i samma hytt om de är gifta och kan uppvisa vigselbevis för en representant från Norwegian Cruise Line vid kajen före ombordstigning.

Barn under 16 år har inte tillträde till fitnesscentret. Minimiåldern för att använda casinot och Thermal Spa (bastu, ångbastu, varma bad) är 18 år. Vissa barer och lounger ombord på Norwegian Epic och Breakaway (Plus)-klassens fartyg, såsom Spice H2O, är endast för vuxna (18 år och uppåt). Livräddare övervakar familjepoolerna under schemalagda tider, men det rekommenderas starkt att alla barn under 12 år har vuxet sällskap hela tiden. Säkerheten för alla barn (upp till 18 år) är föräldrarnas eller medföljande vuxnas ansvar oavsett om en livräddare är närvarande eller inte.

Av säkerhetsskäl får barn inte lämnas utan uppsikt ombord när deras föräldrar eller medföljande vuxna går iland.

Norwegian Cruise Line accepterar servicehundar som är tränade att utföra en specifik uppgift. En servicehund kan behövas för många olika tillstånd, vilket är godtagbart enligt American with Disabilities Act (ADA) riktlinjer.

I enlighet med ADA accepterar Norwegian Cruise Line INTE ”Emotionellt stöd”-hundar som servicehundar, de får INTE följa med ombord.

• Gäster måste tillhandahålla kopior av hundens aktuella vaccinationsintyg som visar att alla vaccinationer är uppdaterade (inklusive rabies), samt ett USDA- eller internationellt hälsocertifikat
• Gäster ansvarar för att kontrollera eventuella särskilda krav vid samtliga hamnar. Gäster ansvarar för att ta med all mat, medicin och flytväst till hunden
• En avlastningslåda kommer att tillhandahållas

Alla gäster som reser med servicehundar måste boka minst två veckor i förväg för att ge tillräckligt med tid att kontrollera med varje hamn och förse Norwegian Cruise Line med all nödvändig dokumentation.

*Observera att även om vi accepterar servicehundar som är tränade att utföra en specifik uppgift ombord på våra fartyg, kan lokala restriktioner och krav innebära att det inte är tillåtet att gå iland i alla hamnar.

*Observera att på grund av statliga krav och restriktioner kan gäster som går ombord eller lämnar fartyget i en isländsk hamn inte flyga till eller från Island med en servicehund, om de inte uppfyller vissa karantänvillkor vid ankomsten till Island. Om din resrutt inkluderar ett besök i en isländsk hamn utan ombordstigning eller avstigning, kan du segla med din servicehund men du kommer inte att kunna gå iland under vistelsen i hamnen.
