Throughout your cruise, you will enjoy five-star cuisine by top Peruvian chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino. Pedro is famous for showcasing the flavours the Amazon jungle can bring to Peruvian cuisine.

With all-inclusive amenities and five-star cuisine by top chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, this luxurious ship is guaranteed to give you an intimate and immersive experience.

Outside of the multiple daily excursions, guests can relax on the ship’s observation deck for leisurely wildlife watching under the vast open Amazon sky.
At dusk and dawn, Amazon sunsets and sunrises in the ‘mirrored forest’ of Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve have double the visual impact as they are reflected off the ‘blackwater’ of the Amazon river, and this the observation deck is the ideal place to snap that winning photograph!

Nature takes care of the lighting on our generous outdoor deck on the Aria Amazon, with plenty of sunshine for those who wish to soak it up on cushioned loungers during the day to cooler evenings under the star filled sky. Guests seeking fresh Amazon air without being exposed to the sun will find plenty of space and comfortable∘ seating under the expansive awning of the outdoor lounge. While all our Amazon luxury cruises offer a full day of activities and excursions, we also invite our guests to opt out as they wish. Relax in our outdoor lounge while examining all yesterday’s photos of Amazon wildlife living in their natural habitats, deep in the rainforest.

Air-conditioned with plenty of natural light, plush deep sofas, soothing hardwood decor and a well-stocked bar as a centrepiece, this is arguably one of the best spots in Peru to sip on a pisco sour.

Peru & the Amazon Rainforest
This many-splendoured country delights everyone lucky enough to visit. It houses a gorgeous stretch of the Amazon Rainforest, including the birthplace of the Amazon River, as well as the majestic Machu Picchu. While here, make sure to explore Peru’s lively cities, from the colorful capital city of Lima, also known as the “City of Kings” and the unofficial gastronomical capital of South America, to Cusco, the heartland of the Inka Empire.
Nature
The Amazon Rainforest is a lush jungle environment that spans nine countries, but the most beautiful stretch of all is in Peru. This is thanks to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, a protected zone that has kept development and deforestation out of the Peruvian Amazon, leaving flourishing flora and fauna, as well as several Amazonian communities, intact. This area is also known as the “forest of mirrors” for the crystal-clear reflections of the trees and sky cast by its waters.
Wildlife
The Amazon is home to over 30% of all the known animal species in the world. With the floor-to-floor, wall-to-wall ceilings featured in every suite aboard the Aria Amazon, you’ll be able to spot rare Amazonian species right outside your window. Keep your eyes out for Amazonian manatees, three-toed sloths, capybara, pink river dolphins, scarlet macaw, and spider monkeys.
Cuisine
Peruvian gastronomy is respected across the world, with delicious dishes at both the authentic local level and in the world of fine dining. Fish, meats, legumes, corn, quinoa, and rice feature heavily in richly flavorful dishes, along with numerous exotic fruits that are difficult to find outside of the country. Our menus, crafted by Peru’s own celebrity chef Pedro Miguel Schiaffino, blend various regional cuisines, highlighting popular Peruvian dishes and drawing on ingredients and techniques from the Amazon.
Landmarks
Bucket-list sites are everywhere you look in Peru. Besides the Amazon Rainforest, the “lost city” of Machu Picchu is the biggest must-see destination, as well as the Sacred Valley of the Inkas. Our tours in Peru also pepper in some unique landmarks, ones that many tourists don’t think to visit, while those who do leave fond memories. In Lima, visit Casa Aliaga, one of the city’s oldest buildings and a home that has been passed down through 17 generations of the same family, for lunch with a member of the Aliaga family.

The Masterpiece Collection
of add-on experiences
One of the many qualities that set a Uniworld Boutique River Cruise apart is the degree and quality of our all-inclusive amenities. We offer more inclusions—and more luxurious inclusions—than any other river cruise line. Our guests will always find everything they need and more to enjoy a wonderful holiday with Uniworld.
For the guests looking to take their journey one step further, we’ve curated a Masterpiece Collection of optional excursions that go above and beyond our included experiences, available for an additional charge.
Due to the unique nature of Masterpiece Collection experiences, booking and pricing vary by excursion. Some may be booked in advance, while others can only be booked once onboard. Most Masterpiece Collection experiences also have minimum and maximum participation requirements. Please contact our reservations team at 0808 168 9231 for more information about booking specific excursions.
The Aria Amazon’s signature walls of glass come in especially helpful here in the ship’s dedicated workout space, offering engrossing distraction for guests on the treadmill and stationary bicycle.

On the waters of the Peruvian Amazon, we launched new spa menus in 2015 featuring an expanded array of massage and spa services. The Aria Amazon offers an exclusive∘ top-deck massage room with internationally-trained∘ therapists offering a range of massages using 100% pure, natural essential oils. Each specially-crafted spa oil is developed from indigenous ingredients such as coconut and vanilla and harvested from either the highlands of Peru or Amazonia before being carefully distilled and conserved, using no additives.

The Jacuzzi is located on the Observation Deck.
In our experience, most young children—especially those under 4—are simply not yet old enough to enjoy river cruising. We make no special arrangements for little ones and offer few kid-friendly activities onboard or onshore. Please note: Our Generations program departures include programs and services designed for families traveling with children. Adults accompanying children are responsible for their safety and behaviour onboard and onshore.
Peru: Guests must be 7 years of age or older. Guests under 21 must be booked in a cabin with someone who is 25 years of age or older, or traveling with a parent or guardian who is booked in a connecting suite. Some excursions may not be suitable for young children.
Kindly inform us in advance if you have specific dietary requests (e.g., low-fat, low-calorie, gluten-free, sugar-free, vegetarian, etc.). This information can be provided to us when completing your Passenger Information Form. We have a “Travelling Lite” menu for guests seeking more health-conscious options, as well as light lunches, vegetarian options, and generous buffets that offer something for everyone. We will do our very best to accommodate your needs given the resources available to us.
Once all the passengers have boarded, the crew will conduct a mandatory safety drill. Please be sure to check exactly where the life vests are located in your cabin. Memorise your way to the deck in case an emergency should arise. Consult your Cruise Director or Guide regarding any questions you may have. Life vests are provided for use while onboard the skiffs and you are required to wear them. Always hold the guide or crew member’s hand while embarking or disembarking, since the boat ladder and deck may be wet and slippery. It is important for us to verify that all our passengers are on board prior to departure. There is a check list in the reception area that you must sign upon returning from every visit.
Peru: We recommend comfortable walking shoes, quick drying and lightweight clothing, lightweight long pants and rain gear, long-sleeved tops for jungle excursions, wide-brimmed hat, extra socks, and a bathing suit.
High quality, luxurious amenities
There’s all-inclusive, and then there’s the unmatched level of inclusive luxurious amenities that only we provide. To ensure truly carefree and effortless travel, we’ve gone ahead and included it all—so the only thing you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your holiday.
NEVER BE BORED
Our onboard programming leaves nary a dull moment. Early risers will appreciate morning yoga sessions. Foodies may want to join a cooking demo. And those looking to dance the night away will find local entertainment in the lounge.
NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS
With every carefully selected inclusion, you'll find that we are committed to providing only the highest quality amenities. This makes every moment an opportunity for surprise and delight.
NEVER GO HUNGRY
Enjoy sumptuous buffet breakfasts and lunches during the day, then a four-course gourmet dinner in the evening. Craving a bite in between? Inquire about 24-hour room service and å la carte menus.
NEVER BE THIRSTY
Never restricted to mealtimes or happy hours, you'll find that fine wines, local beers, and premium spirits flow freely throughout the cruise. Our bar closes when the last guest turns in for the evening.
When to go: Weather in the Peruvian Amazon can be divided into two main seasons. Visit in the High Water season (December through May) to find yourself closer to the treetops, where you can spot the many species that make their homes there. Alternatively, the Low Water season (June through November) gives access to jungle paths that are inaccessible at other times of the year.
How to pack: Whether you’re visiting during high or low water season, expect warm and balmy weather. We suggest that you bring comfortable walking shoes, quick-drying and lightweight clothing, lightweight long pants and rain gear, long-sleeved tops for jungle excursions, a wide-brimmed hat, extra socks, and a bathing suit.
